I will say only this . . .
the lines in the steel work well with the overall shape of the piece.
the way the ends of the scales relate to the shape of the steel is very sublime.
the scales are a nice contrast to the stark "industrial" look of the steel.
So, we have contrast, we have harmony, we have form, and we have function. If it isn't art, it's a damn close approximation.
