Drew calls it Splattered Beech and yes its Spalted - of course he is English - go figure - anyway I got the razor in yesterday - took it out for a test drive this am with some Catie's Bubbles Midnight Dreary(Unbelievable) and the razor is as good a shaver as it looks - smooth as anything I have(that's about 80 razors) its a 7/8" blade
