    Default Iwasaki / Kamijyou restoration

This is an early one of Kousuke sensei's kamisori. #345 to be exact Probably made post WW2
Tang stamps are different to newer ones.

No before pics but post here shows the state of the tang when the wrap was removed:

Huge time investment in this one.
Days in oxalic acid & subsequent sanding to remove tang rust. Didn't get it all but refused to go too deep into this precious bit of history. All the forge scale is pretty much gone & the black colour is from the acid.

Omote was in a terrible state & chose to hand sand because my 2" greaseless wheels just did not give the finish I wanted for final polish stage.

Minimal work on Ura to keep tang stamps pristine but you can differentiate the hard tamahagane from the softer steel.

I missed it Oz! What a beauty! Kamasori are so basic, yet highly functional, esp as of the quality and preparation of this example.
It induces slathering about the mouth.
    You have done well.

Great save Oz. Your patience and respect would be appreciated by the maker.

Thanx guys . Probably wouldn't have bothered with it if it didn't have the provenance. So worn. I mean the razor not me
