Iwasaki / Kamijyou restoration
This is an early one of Kousuke sensei's kamisori. #345 to be exact
Probably made post WW2
Tang stamps are different to newer ones.
No before pics but post here shows the state of the tang when the wrap was removed:

Huge time investment in this one.
Days in oxalic acid & subsequent sanding to remove tang rust. Didn't get it all but refused to go too deep into this precious bit of history. All the forge scale is pretty much gone & the black colour is from the acid.
Omote was in a terrible state & chose to hand sandbecause my 2" greaseless wheels just did not give the finish I wanted for final polish stage.
Minimal work on Ura to keep tang stamps pristine but you can differentiate the hard tamahagane from the softer steel.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
