Thanked: 38Gregg, I have a SR Droescher Karbono with the dark grey etched tang and spine. It has a couple of pitted places. I'm concerned that if I sand/polish them out I will also remove some of the finish on the spine. How did you go about creating your finish on your tang and spine? You said it was difficult. Can you describe the process more fully? Thanks. Great job on that razor...

cau,
I do not etched with acid, I used "Pentrate Super Black". I got it in Hungary. This is a powder like these.
The difficulty of the procedure at home it must be dissolved in water and to boil 140-150C / 280-300F continuously. The etching time is between 10-30 sec. depending on the desired effect. The process does not work on stainless steel.gregg

Very elegant. Nice work!
