Prussian Military Razor
J&R Dodge Sheffield 6/8 wedge. I don't see many by this maker. Thought I'd share. I'm attracted to razors with military references and could not pass this one up. My first purple scales
. The original finish on the blade was pretty course. This is my attempt to reproduce that finish. The scales are dyed horn. A little warped but pretty much all there. There are some numbers scratched into the scales which I left. I'm not sure if this was really a military issue and they represent a payroll number or some other issuing mark. At any rate they are part of the history of the razor. I'm pleased I was able to even out the bevel. It's just set with a 1K in the photos.

I love the history of old razors, but have yet to own a military one. Nice find and it cleaned up nicely!

Very nice! I also wonder how the red/purple horn was dyed. Looks great!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
