Wilbert Cutlery, Regal restore
Evening gents. Received and restored this Regal barbers notch with Ivory covered tang and fancy celluloid scales.
It's a 5/8 blade, and honed up very well. Nice steel to work with and shave was a treat.
Details such as diamond shaped spine, and nice metal work around the jimps and rear stab have me thinking that some attention went into this Company's manufacturing.
I am quite happy to have been able to bring it back to use.
Thanks for looking. Any info on this Chicago based Cutler would be appreciated.

The diamond shaped spine is called an 'arris' spine. The typical rounded spine we see is called a quill spine.
Wilbert Cutlery was a trade mark used by Sears Roebuck and Company.

I am of the opinion that Boker made Wilberts for Sears. They seem to be spitting images of other Boker models.
I have a Wilbert Pearl which is identical to a Boker Pearl, save the tang stamp.
I also wonder about the name 'Wilbert'? Sears' Son?
