Yes there is a formula for that but being lazy I use the downloadable Excel file found here http://www.coticule.be/wedges.html . If you scroll down it is on the left hand side. It is applicable for all grinds.

The height of the grind would be a factor, as the width is measured from the edge to the where the grind begins. as your razor is a 6/8, it looks as though there is about 1/8" unground, so the "width" would be 5/8, roughly. But the standard is 4:1 for razors, so 3/16" thick stock at a minimum, but usually 1/4".

The rule of thumb is that the thickness of the spine has to be between 1/3 and 1/4 of the width of the razor. So a 6/8 razor should be between 3/16 and 1/4 thick at the spine.

An interesting experiment. But I think the blade length. The corners should be rounded blade, otherwise will scratch. About angle already said, but it is not a dogma. With your angle If successful selection of metal and hardness can shave very nice.
Pen, I think it was not necessary to round off and make angular. To better control the angle of the razor to his face.
    Experiments like me, go ahead.
