The design is simple enough for sure. At least I think it is not being able to see the whole blade. It is simply a matter of different tastes in ornamentation. With plainer amboyna burl wood scales and plain Damascus blade without treatment it might appeal to me.

How did you get the blade all black? I would to have one in all black.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I get the blade so black as a part of the etch process for the damascus. I use a ferric acid blend. It turns out this cool black, I like the darkness too.
