Default 7/8 Joseph Elliot with fancy spine

Finished this last week. 7/8 Joseph Elliot with a barbers notch and fancy spine. Bone scales thinned to .090 with a lead wedge and brass beehive collars and pins. The scales are sort of 2 tones so I kept the darker shades toward the wedge end on both scales. Has anyone used peroxide to bleach out the bone to one color? Wonderful shave BTW.
Still playing with the light box. I was trying to show the bright blade finish in the light box. Not sure it worked out all that well.

That looks fantastic, nice work. I've never tried bleaching, but I have stabilised with grapeseed oil, which gives a yellowed, semi-translucent, antique-like finish.

Wow, I think the scales look great as they are ! I have used peroxide as a bleaching agent on a couple of bone scales. Just place them in a tupperware container with loose fitting lid along with normal 3% peroxide and soak until the desired level of whiteness is obtained, rinse, dry completely (I left them to dry in the sun for a day), then seal with Renaissance wax. If I recall I let them soak about 72 hrs before I was satisfied.
