8/8 razor with a few firsts for me.
I haven't made a razor for a while but had the urge after seeing a few customs that I couldn't afford.
This is the first finished in a batch of three I have been working on. As I'm only making for myself to use I make each razor different and like to try new things. For this one I used puna shell and mother of pearl inlays on the razor and in the bone handles.
Although not perfect I am happy with the results and have learned from the build.
Also does anyone have any ideas for a makers mark?

Your maker's mark is something that you resonate with. A symbol or even your initials. I imagine it needs to be simple too.
Is it over there or over yonder?

Thanked: 4826Well we all have our unique situations. I have chosen a screen name and avatar that runs through all shaving related things that I do. I print the avatar on my anti corrosion paper that I use on any razors I send out and it is part of the Logo design of the hones that I shape. You need to look around and decide what object or regional item or monogram or family crest you are going to take as a representation of your work. The should be personal.

You could start with the maker's marks that you like and work from there...

How about "*insert 4 letter word*ing awesome razors" and your location? A year or date of manufacture would be cool for future generations since we never truely know the date of vintage razors. Maybe just the decade

Thanked: 4826I have bought a couple of custom made steel stamps and it seems to me that they are $200ish apiece. A tough one to set up on but I am sure that in the long run would be a worthwhile purchase. I wonder what all the other guys have done?

Thanked: 4826The list or desirable stuff is alway much longer than the allowable budget in my life too. All in good time I suppose.
