    Default Le Grelot custom restore

I was sent this razor to replace the scales only, but it turned out the blade need some love as well.
Someone at some point in time had tried to clean up a spot on the blade and left a ton of fairly visible scratches that just ruined the looks.
So the razor went though a hand sanding progression from 600 to 3000 sand paper after which I buffed it to a high polish on a felt wheel with emery followed by hand polish with Mothers. The scales are silver swirl acrylic with red wedge and brass pins on stainless washers. I did contour the scales to get the 3-D effect of the figuring to stand out better.

Better than original, a task not easily accomplished IMHO.

    Lovely work Stefan!

Are the scales a replica of the originals in terms of sizing and shape (apart from the contouring)?

The scales it came with were all messed up from heat exposure as it looked like. I do not think they were the originals but could be wrong. The style of the scales is similar to the old ones but more refined.
