This is a razor I recently completed. It took a great edge and shaves really well, buttery smooth. It is made from W2 (from NJ Steel Baron). It is 7/8 wide, the scales are brown streaky horn (when held to the light), a faux ivory wedge. I stacked and alternated the washers. This was my first time HT W2 and the first razor I made from it didn't go so well. I'm not sure what happened, I heat treated it much like 1095 (I do use a kiln) but I believe that my quench wasn't warmed enough and well from there it went south. Oh well, live and learn. This one turned out great though. Thoughts, comments, input always welcome. Thanks!

+1 on the twisted looking tang! I've never seen one like it before, and I like that it is beautiful while not diminishing the function of the razor.

I like the twist designs as well. Your scales look beautiful.
If i could be constructive, the shank length from pivot to heel may be a bit long and make it feel somewhat toe heavy or unbalanced. I have a razor i had to modify because of a cracked heel and this was the result for me at least.

Thanks for your input. It's interesting that you make that point. When I was making the razor I had a similar thought but at the time it was too late to change it, I had already formed the heel area any put the notch in the tail. For me I would change this in the future as well. It's not really as unbalanced as it looks. It's more of an ergonomics issue as the length is a bit long for an average size (such as myself) individual with an average size hand. Thanks again for the compliments and the input!
