This has been one of my favorite razors that I have done. When I picked it up, it had more rust then metal, and the scales were busted. With a good bit of work and love it has become a fantastic shaver.

I think it looks nice. I particularly like the shape of the scales from the side, yet it seems over-thick in the width of them with particular reference to the wedge end. The wedge end does, however, carry a cool aesthetic. The blade seems a bit too shiny, but as you referenced, it had a lot of rust. Some patina will come back in. It seems you have kept the lines and knew when to stop.

I am certain a lot of time spent and, as a heavy wedge, am not surprised to hear it shaves well.

I would say you have done quite good.

You may do well to reference what razor it is and the type of wood!
    Reminds me of hickory...

Thank you for your thoughts. It is a Joseph Rodgers & Sons razor. I originally made a thinner set of scales for it. How ever with its size and weight they didn't seem to hold the athsetics. I opted to start over and make these a bit heftier. The wood I used is Bloodwood, it's natural color really comes out with the tung oil.
