Default 17/16 wootz razor in hybrid scales

This razor was based on the design I did for the wootz razor I made for Kyle, but compacted a bit to fit the scales. The customer really wanted the hybrid burl cap and blue resin scales material which was only 5.25" long. Additionally, I got the request to remove anything that might scratch a strop so I left off the filework, and chose a muted French point. The wootz was made by evrahim baran

Ok, WOW! I'm loving this blade a ton..... Still not a fan of this material as scales though. I think I'd opt for something that looks more traditional like an Ivory coloured G10. Still, fantastic blade!

One of the issues I have with this material is that I ned to pin the razor, and then leave it for a while, tighten the pins again. I may have to repeat this 2 times. It doesn't compress a whole lot, but enough that it loosens the blade. So I generally tighten it 2 times before cleaning up the pinheads.

Have you seen my san mai knife I posted in the finer things forum? It has a solid handle in this material.

Wow! That is absolutely an beautiful blade!! I am not a fan of that handle material but with a blade that looks like that it doesn't matter if the handle was made from wall paneling

Bruno, Beautiful razor and scales. Do you get your Wootz from the russian Gent who makes Bulat Wootz? In all ways his steel IS Wootz.

I did get a small amount of Mastodon tusk but it went out, still watching for the next fair priced hunk of it For You and 2 others.

I know that the highlight of a Wootz blade is the edge and the shave quality, but, there's something about the satin finish and the patina of Wootz that is absolutely magnetic.
    That's one beautiful razor!
