    Default General Nobile

A hollow ground razor with "General Nobile" on the tang and J.P. Alcamisi, Schenectady, NY on the other side. Nothing special, anonymously made in Germany. I wanted to dress it up and get it shaving. It had a collar decoration like a wreath (is there a name for that piece?) near the pivot and the rest of the scales were gone. I went with green scales cut down from 6 inch pen stock shaped by hand and moved the wreath thing to the wedge end. The wedge is light green Corian. Maybe I chose green to go with the leafy wreath decoration? I don't know, it's shaving great!

Looks awesome. Love the scales and how you kept the inlay. Great job.

Very nice job. These scales really spiff up the razor.

Third, I will third that. In general I find the wild scales a little too much, but those are an exception. I think those scales are very well suited for that blade. You might say they were made for it...
    Sorry, I could't resist.
It truly does look great, and a great looking blade that shaves well is a winner.

Congratulations, you have done a very good job. The bolsters look fine at either end of the scales. However, I do not know if the bolsters were at the pivot end to add a bit of strength for stropping or purely decoration.

Thank you, much appreciated! I was thinking the bolsters were decoration because they are pretty flimsy, really.

    Very well done!
I haven't delved into transferring bolsters/inlays but I know it adds another tricky step to the whole process and requires some finesse!
Really like the scales. I usually stick to natural materials so it has to be just right for me to like it when synthetic.
