My first custom leaving the shop!
Finally the day has come where I made something that I'm happy enough with to see go! This razor is made from 01 tool steel 7/32" thick and it's a 7/8 blade. I made the jumping with a 20 TPI checkering file and made the barbers notch with a chainsaw file. The blade isn't very hollow, I know there isn't really an actual standard on how to grade the hollow of a blade if I had to call it anything I would say 1/4 if not wedge? If it helps I made the hollow with an 8" contact... the finish I would call near perfect mirror, I could have taken this to the buffer and removed everything from the 800 grit cork but choose against it...
now i I know it's not perfect and I also never claim to know it all I'm just happy with how this came out...

It's very comfortable! I think I need to tweak the design a bit and shorten the shank so the thumb notch isn't as far but aside from that it's nice and light... Originally Posted by Sacsrk
The shave was good, I don't know if this is my honing or the razor but I almost feel it's too sharp so I'm putting a new edge on her to see if it helps...

Yes hopefully sometime soon. I found out my neighbor had a forge. Did some toying around with knives and 2 failed razor attempts. Didn't have the right tools or knowledge but it was a lot of fun. Originally Posted by Dafonz6987

Everything is alright!
Almost specular satin looks great.
Only now handles seem a bit thick, but these also have fans. expect to continueIf something is unclear in the text, please correct me ......
