Joseph Rogers & Sons with original scales
A 13/16 near wedge blade in a crocus type finish and original scales and lead wedge. The scales are the commonly seen faux tortoise shell (dyed horn). As received most of the coloring in the scales was faded to missing. I've been meaning to try Voidmonsters use of hair dye to duplicate the missing color. After practice on some old broken scales I gave it a try. My painting abilities could use some improving but I'm very satisfied with the results. The color is very durable and did not fade under the buffer. I left the dye on the scales for 1 hour before washing it off. The directions called for 10 minutes when used on hair.
For your viewing here are some before and after pictures.

That's a very fine piece of work, Karl! Excellent work with the scales, thanks for sharing about that. They really ended up looking great, especially from how they started. I love the blade, too. So nice and clean, great job as always!
