Wade and Butcher Restore
I picked up this Wade and Butcher some time ago in an antique store. There was quite a bit of pitted rust in the pivot and on the spine, but the blade face and edge were fine. Turned out not too bad. Started with steel wool, 800, 1000 and 2000 wet dry sandpaper and then some Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish...and a bit of TLC and elbow grease. Will get this on the stones in the next few days.
The inscription on the tang reads: "Manufactured by Wade and Butcher Sheffield".
Does anyone know the date of this razor?
Here is the before:
And the after:

Nice cleanup! "England" not present on tang means it was probably made before1891 when country of origin was deemed necessary.
Enjoy you find!
