    Default 01 with Carbon Fiber

This is a razor that I made a while back. It really is a great shaver and I was playing around with a new finisher. The stone I found on eBay, the seller had many different vintage stones listed and this one looked to be in decent shape and is a type that after doing some reading seemed like a viable stone that would make a good finisher. The stone is a vintage German Schwedenstein. I'll try to post a pic of it. I am still getting used to the hone because it is really skinny, however with some practice it really did a fantastic job on this razor when used as a finisher. The razor is a 6/8 razor with a round point and 1/4 hollow. Nothing really special as far as the design of the razor, just a really great practical shaver. The scales are made from carbon fiber, they are smaller toward the wedge end because that is all the material that I had left. I really like how the razor turned out and I was extremely happy with the edge that the vintage hone was able to achieve. Some final stopping on the loom strop and this edge seem to just glide through my whiskers. I did note one interesting thing, I am prone to razor burn as I have really sensitive skin, so it a razor has a harsh edge I tend to notice it. With the edge on this, It left my skin very smooth and free from irritation with a two pass shave. Don't know it the hone had anything to do with that or not, it was just an observation.
As always thoughts, feedback, comments, and input are much welcome! Thanks!!Name: Custom April CF 1.jpg
