Custom pipe cleaner and matching knife
Last time I saw my father in law he requested a folding pipe cleaner using a thin piece of spring steel that he provided. I finished this up last night, and I think it turned out quite well! The "blade" is 6" long and I used black palm wood for the scales and black micarta for the wedge.
I toyed with a number of ideas before settling on this design, which features an extra large double pinned wedge with a notch cut out for the steel to sit on. I sheered the wedge pins for a sleeker look, but left the pivot exposed to tighten up or replace the blade if needed.
I gave it to him today, he was quite pleased
The knife in the picture is a Challange Cutlery Co. sleeveboard with matching covers that needed a new life.
Thanks for letting me share!
