    Default G.W. Webster resto

I found this one last year at an antiques market and finally got around to finishing it up. I don't really know anything about the maker. The backside scale had a split by the pivot so I just went ahead and made new horn scales for it. I gave it a lead wedge, brass bullseye collars and brass pins. It measures 7/8+, nice smiling edge the way I like 'em! The blade looked relatively clean at first until I got to working on it and more pitting and issues along the edge were revealed. Now it has a nice solid clean bevel and a satin finish contrasting with mirror spine, notch and tang. This was done by hand with simple tools but I used a dremel with a wool wheel and 1 micron diamond paste for two minutes at the end to clean the 3000 grit sandpaper haze off the spine and tang. Honed to 12K then mellowed a bit on a coticule. Thanks for looking!

Very nice work. I have not been fortunate enough to come across a razor by that maker yet.
