Hargreaves, Smith & Co. "Imperial" restoration
I finished up a little restoration project I've been doing and wanted to share it with you guys. It's a Hargreaves, Smith & Co. Imperial Razor that I've had in the to-do pile for a couple years. I disassembled it back then...
I was planning on reusing the scales but then I remembered what I didn't like about them... They are way too long for this blade. There's almost a 3/4 inch gap between the end of the blade and the wedge. Other than that, there's nothing wrong with them, I'll save them for a better fitting blade. Here's the old scales pictured below with the blade... little too long IMHO.
So I made new horn scales and a new lead wedge, pinned together using nickel silver domes (Austin's) and bronze (yes, bronze) pins from down Texas way. Honed up and finished on a yellow-green thuringian. Thanks for looking...

Well done, sir. Well done! The finish on the blade looks fantastic. Nice idea with the silver and bronze pinning.

Phenomenal work per usual! Seriously, do you ever make a mistake? The trademark satin finish is spectacular as always--I really like how it makes the lines of the razor stand out. Just grand!
