Very nice! Did you reuse the old wedge or make your own? What did you put on the wood to seal them?

I reused the old wedge. I figured I would mess it up, so I reused what I had. To finish I just used Poly that I had from some furniture that I did before.

I dunno, I find this acceptable. Certainly for a first scale build. Looks pretty darn good to me.

The FBU is at the top. The rest are a bunch of other things I have accumulated.Name: collection.jpg

That FBU started my problems. I got it at a yard sale for 3 dollars. I really like it, but that chipped section is kind of a mess. Now I have RAD pretty bad and just gobble up blades left and right.

Just think how bad its going to be in a year. Ha. Great start on collecting. Now you need to learn what to get for keepers and what to get to sell. And what not to buy. Thats the biggie.

Everything that I have is under 20 bucks. I figure that I don’t drink or gamble, so it’s not that bad of a vice.

Dude, been collecting for a couple years now and I still have trouble with this.
    Especially the sell part.

So, I have pinned a lot of razors over the past few years, but this was my first attempt at actually making some scales from the ground up. I think it turned out alright, but I know I can do better. Griffon Antelope blade restored quite nicely. Then I used some black streaked buffalo horn for the scales with small dome washers. I don't have any machinery so I do everything by hand, which makes it very time consuming but still fun.
