Etienna Dumas
Etienna Dumas of Thiers, France. His trade mark Dumas Aine 32 was registered in1809. This razor probably dates 1810 - 1820's. A 6/8 near wedge blade restored in a glazed finish as it was originally. The original black horn scales were too bug eaten to save so copies were made in honey horn with a black horn wedge. The original wedge was white bone. The scales are very thin at .085 and unusual for horn. Normally scales of this thickness I find in bone or ivory. The original steel collars were used in the restoration. The collars at the wedge end are larger than the pivot end and a feature I have found on early French razors.

Very nice. I believe the first name of the maker would be Etienne (a French version of "Stephen").

Where did you get the eagle display stand? It is simply amazing! Also, the razor is nice, as well.

Nicely done indeed, I have a stub tail that needs sorting out, at some point I may just bump it up to the front of the line after seeing this.
Thanks for sharing the great pics, cant say I have had a true stubtail French razor (only ones with NO tail) how does it shave?
