Thanked: 35Marsden
Mail Call.
Purchased this from a close friend. I sent it to Karl Johnson as I wanted to shave with it. We agreed on a restoration. The original scales were very cracked. Rather than repair them and hope they didn't crack again, he decided to make copies out of tea stained bone. The originals are put away for safe keeping. I simply love the soft glazed finish Karl was able to get. As always, his work speaks for itself. I hope he will chime in here.

Amazing razor! Those images scare me to look at it balancing precariously on that weight though

Thanked: 35Thank you all. I promise that the blade was perfectly secure and only on there for 10 seconds for the shot. Point taken however!

The etching on the top of the spine 'Magnum Bonum' still remains but is hard to catch in a picture. There were washers at the pivot. Common with ivory scales. The pivot pin hole was very large. .165 if I remember correctly. The blade hit the wedge on the original scales. Although I do not usually use a bushing I did use a floating brass bushing on this blade.
