    Cool And Yet...Some More Americans...

Here are a few more 'Vintage' American blades that I've been working on restoring recently. A Torrey model 999, A Green Lizard, A Wilbert Cutlery, A HMC Cutlery, An Electric Cutlery, and a High Art ( Unknown Maker?)

The photography (not my forte!) was sort of fun with these as I am trying to learn a photo editing program.

    Enjoy...

Some real nice USA made razors you have there. I really like the scales on that Wilbert Cutlery, very unusual yet attractive.

Thanks! The Wilbert is a very nice razor with matching covered tang and scales. Great shaver also!

    Hoowee!
Glad to see you finally got my razzers done, Mike!

    Cool!
I have been messing with some American 'underlings' and hardware store razors.
They are every bit as fun and sometimes a lot more rare than the big names.

Man! You are overrun with lizards, eh?

You have inspired me (once again) to share some here. Just too much fun!
The photo-editing is cool. It simply makes your picture closer to what you intended to take.
At times, you can take the perfect picture. For me, rare.

TBH, much of the time, as you edit a bad photo a bit, it winds-up being the best.

So...What are you using for collars there?
They look cool. Some bigs and littles?

Hey Tom! I have been on an "American Kick" of late...although I never stray far from the Sheffield's. I'm just finishing up a very old interchangeable blade 5 day set with Ivory scales. It'll be pretty cool when that's done.

My camera isn't the greatest and my hand shakes a bit without a tripod deal, so I decided to try to figure out a photo program. Sometimes the pics turn out pretty good and then other times...not so good. I've been using collars that I make myself and also factory collars from my 'big box of spare parts'...LOL! Just all depends on how I feel at the time.

Can't wait to see some of your Americans!

Here are some of yours. Pulling saturation out takes the yellow out as in some of my earlier pics.
Balance highlights with brightness, I think.

The shadows are to taste. Remember to make them lighter. As-posted, they get darker?

I rarely get any satisfaction by doing color things. Sometimes, Black and white chosen can open-up a fine pic.

I played with a few of yours with my archaic stuff....

All I could do. These pics are challenging.
I would like to put some things here I have done in the past several months.
    Thank You for doing same.

I like the black and white you did with the 'Lizard' Tom. Hopefully as I play with the photoshop my photographic skills will get better. I better photo box would help a lot as well...

BUT...the Americans...they're simply quality shavers! Truth be told, if I was still a daily shaver, more often than not I would choose a vintage American steel blade to shave with. As it is, shaving every 2-3 days or so I usually go with a smooth Sheffield to whack through the brush. LOL!

    Thanks Tom!

Very very nice! They all look great - but - being a Torrey slut myself I'm mysteriously drawn to that particular one. And being a covered tang predator I especially like it with the covered tang. Let me know if you get tired of that one my friend!
