Wootz razor in mammoth ivory scales
Finished today. A wootz steel razor with fossilized mammoth tusk ivory scales. This wootz was made by Evrahin Baran. Etching was done in ferric chloride. Wootz and Ivory is a perfect combination.
Some time ago I started using nitric acid for etching, but the wootz I have from Evrahim contains a lot of manganese, and the only decent way I have found to etch it is deep etching using ferric chloride.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
