8/8+ Greaves
This razor reminded me of a post recently by Glenn of a razor that had been honed to death. A faint masonic etch was still visible on the blade so the original crocus finish was decided upon for restoration. This razor had seen a previous restoration attempt with the scale cracks full of some type of glue/epoxy. Bone was chosen as a replacement. The original big beautiful collars where drilled out off center in the previous restoration and the pins beat to death to hide the enlarged hole. Sometimes I am able to use a dapping block to close up oversized holes but there was nothing to work with here. Austin Kennedy's brass domed collars replaced the originals. A honey horn wedge was used to accent the brass collars. A couple of in process pictures shows the blade off the 400 grit belt and a bevel check made on a 1K before proceeding further.

Poor poor masonic etching. Sad to see it go.
