Trevor Restoration
We all know and love the Trevor razors
I know a guy called Trevor and managed to sell him the razor but first I had to restore it.
The blade looked good in the photos but when I dug it out it wasn't so good. Pitting, hone ware and it was tapered .
I hand sanded out the hone ware and pitting , also took the heel in a bit and evened the blade out to an extent .
The scales were plastic so I took some horn scales from a dilapidated razor and re shaped them into a nicer shape .
They took some heating and pressing too.
Original lead wedge, nickel pins and steel washers .
This was Trevor's first straight razor and he is a decent guy so I took an old strop, cut away half of it due to slices n nic's , sanded it down, a little water and finally neat's-foot oil.
It may be short but it works quite well. I also bought him a GFT shaving cream and a cheap badger brush off amazon.
Finally I gave the blade a wicked Ozuku edge.
He was pleased and so was I.

Very good job on that restore!
I really like giving old horn scales new life with a fresh blade, such a satisfying result! It's bad enough seeing old blades with no hope, but to give scales a second chance feels good.
Lucky guy your friend!“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
