Wootz razor with sapphires, in bone scales
A special one finished yesterday! The steel is wootz, made by Evrahim Baran. The scales are buffalo bone. Inlaid in the tail are 2 blue sapphires.
The scales are experimental. I wanted to do something different than just plain smooth scales. I used my dremel with a diamond burr to make little divots. I partially sanded them away and made more, etc. Then I switched to a different attachment and starting cutting criss-cross along the scales and partially sanded those away. I did that several times and then buffed the scales.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

That's a great looking razor Bruno.
I love the blue saphires in the tail.
The texture on the scales makes them much more interesting.

Very cool! I've been waiting for someone to put gemstones on.. very well done!
I like the idea with the scale art, don't think I could have come up with that!
