Thread: A Couple OF My Restored Straight's

Hi all new member here, Was asked in my introduction to this forum to share a couple of items i have done,Now i don't pretend to be an expert in this field its just a pass time you understand and i don't have any tools just a small Clarke belt sander for thinning and shaping.Suppose i have done around 10-12 straights,showed em my mates at work ,an give most away cus they seemed interested,in using them, and also with the hope they might get hooked as i have in Straight Razor Shaving. Anyhow, i woe find out now if they have pursued the hobby or not ,as i took early retirement at a couple of years ago at 60 so don't see them anymore.

Don't know wot has happened to the second one the blade has tarnished a bit,it was nice, like the top one wen it was finished.??
I Know they aren't perfect, but i HOPE you guys like em so looking forward to any criticism, after you have stopped laughing of course

Love the scales, shape and wood grains. Don't worry about the patina on second razor. At their age and what they have seen they earned a little ageing. Very nice work.h

Nothing wrong with those skins. Look like they will fit nicely in hand and flip nicely on strops and stones.
I have the same krosskeys blade actually! Great shaver.

My own “rule of design”, for future build ideas, is to ensure the pivot end width equals the tang width for a smooth transition when open in flat plane.
Wedge end, full creative license there so long as the curve is pleasing to the eye.
Nice finish on them both.

Actually like the looks of the Krosskey with those scales, gives it that, rustic look. Are you hand rubbing your finishes, and with what.?
