Thanked: 4821I have done a few as well. It’s not an easy task. A good grinder makes a big difference.
Your regrind came out quite well, and the finished razor looks good. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 1074Great regrinding and beautiful scales.
Think you should have kept the nut and bolt as the pivot pin

Thanked: 66asking for a friend. lets call him ... schloan.
say schloan is super lazy and doesnt want to hand-sand any razors to remove pitting. what type of minimum mechanic setup would he need to successfully regrind?
just wondering. for a friend.

Thanked: 4821Vic had built a tiny grinder at one point. Charlie also has a small grinder that he built. Most guys build or buy 2x72 belt grinders. From there it’s about some good instruction and practise.

Looks good.
It is a real skill as I am finding out.
I would say it is the most interesting part of restoration.
The grinder takes years to master but the learning curve is fast.
I spent most of Sunday re grinding 3 blades and I'm loving every second of itLast edited by JOB15; 12-18-2018 at 06:53 AM.

Thanked: 551I haven’t been brave enough to attempt a regrind, but am curious to know what you used. Was it a grinding wheel or a belt sander? I’ve seen videos of folks using both and the belt sander seems more versatile.
