Default Krupp 40 in Paua Abalone

Happy Easter, everyone! So I had just enough of my Paua Abalone ALVS to do one more, and this Krupp 40 seemed like the perfect candidate:

Aluminum wedge, with stainless dome collars and brass pins to accent the gold highlights in the abalone. She pinned up nice, tight and centered.

I don't know about where you're at, but it's a glorious day here in South Carolina after a deluge of storms and rain. Later on, I'm going to work on my horn and bone WB pair and grill some of Lidl's Austrlian lamb.

    Thanks for looking. A-aron/SHD

Nice work Aaron. I do like the looks of that material. I will need to add one to my collection some day. Happy Easter. BTW, that wedge looks perfect!

Thanks Jerry and Shaun-I've learned a lot on my last few, mostly from my mistakes. Also, what I'm finding is that the more I stop and use the calipers to check and measure, the better the final result, fit and finish, etc. D'uh, who knew?! Slow is fast, as they say.

I'm getting go-fever on the WB pair bone/horn pair, though. I've got the bone blanks clamped up in the shop and ready for cutting and shaping; the simple thickness jig I read about here on another thread worked perfectly with a couple of paint-stir sticks that were almost the perfect thickness. My brass-line horn wedge is glued and in clamps-I'm getting there!
