Inspired by charlie Lewis
This blade was made to be as close as I could get to a specific one made by Charlie Lewis.
We discussed the project long before it started, and Charlie gave the project his blessing (or I wouldn't have done it obviously)
This razor was forged from wootz steel. The body of the razor was textured, and not polished after heat treatment. The scales are Blue denim micarta, with red carbon fiber lining. The blade is 10/8" wide and about 3.25" long. It took me a lot longer than usual to make this, because it takes a lot of time to forge / grind something to exact dimensions of an earlier piece, and if that earlier piece is something you've never done yourself, there is no 'muscle memory' to work with.
Still, it was an interesting project but not something I am going to repeat any time soon.

Thanked: 315Nice! Since I may never own a Lewis I've wondered about the possibility of getting a razor based off his designs.
Looks great. Somebody is going to really enjoy that razor. We need an applause emoji!
Gotta taper those scales more and give them a coral reef texture for a Lewis style blade though.
Is it me or does the toe end of the blade kind of make an optical illusion in the second picture?- Joshua

Well done, Bruno, a "Lewis" without as much of the primitive look.
