6/8 near wedge John C. Cockhill
Found this on Ebay and took a liking to it.
The original horn scales had British military markings indicating it was probably re-scaled in the early 1900s (https://sharprazorpalace.com/show-te...ml#post1874053). Unfortunately, they were a bit too far gone for my current skills. I made new scales in the original pattern, lightly cleaned the blade with steel wool/polish, and replaced the collars. I took a couple of small chips out of the blade and got it honed with 3 layers of tape.
Took it for a shave this morning and it performed well, though not my best. I think I need to head back to the stones and work it to two layers of tape. Still not bad and I'm glad i was able to bring this back to working order.O'Toole's commentary on Murphy's Law: Murphy was an optimist.
