    Default MK 133 Customised

    CV Heljestrand MK 133
The blade is mint and I am about to give it a natural edge.

The original scales were very poor, white plastic. I replaced those with bevelled horn and a copper wedge which was made thin because I don't like blades sitting too deep.

The collars (large & extra large) I had made for me out of Tellurium Copper. They have been given a coat of lacquer to prevent oxidisation.

I had forgotten how beautiful horn can be....

    Thanks for looking

Horn is amazing, and so difficult to capture the depth of the colours. I have to say when I saw the thread title I cringed a little. I am not a big fan of many of the modern materials, and I am quite pleased with your choice of material and workmanship.

I am a complete ignorant about razors, but beauty, you do not have to know about it to recognized once you find it.
Congratulations JOB15 for your excellent work on this, I was wondering if copper (as well as other metals) can be use in straight razors manufacturing due to oxidation among other factors, you mentioned a lacquer coat on the collars to prevent oxidisation, would you mind elaborating more on the subject.
    An exquisite example of craftsmanship

Thanks Joseph but living in south America and unable to get goods from abroad, do you think is advisable to use untreated copper or brass in the making of wedge and collars providing them with a more intense maintenance (meaning clean, dry and polishing) ?
    Thanks
