Keen Kutter in Sea Green Acrylic
Well, I'm no Karl or Joseph, but I needed a break from the vagaries of wood and other natural materials, so I thought I would do a relatively easy rescale before I get sucked back into the vortex in the next few days. This Simmons Hardware Keen Kutter fit the bill perfectly; it only needed some vigorous buffing with 3M Marine Polish to make it darn-near perfect. And I wasn't about to take sandpaper to a near singing-hollow blade with a pristine blade etch and tang stamps, so the few micro scratches get to stay. A turquoise recon wedge, SS cup collars and brass pins complete the package.
Occasionally it's nice to take a break from warping and splitting, thicknessing, bowing and delaminating, etc.

Very nicely done. The new scales really spiff up the Keen Kutter.

Thanks Richard and Pete-I'm still a lousy photographer lol. I wanted a clear acrylic on this one to show off the pretty blade-face etch even when closed. I was going to maybe go with a white wedge, but my wife (who has an excellent design aesthetic) suggested the turquoise, and it worked better than I expected. I'm also still working on perfecting my beveled-edges on acrylics, but I'm getting there.

Love the clear scales. Nicely done my friend! I got one of those blades too. Great shaver. Love them singing blades.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Very nice! That clear appears so fragile! Likely pretty tough!

Thanks Jerry-The thing is, I rarely care for full hollow or singing blades as shavers; they always seem to feel "scrapey" to me no matter how keen and smooth they are-but that's probably just me. But this one just spoke to me, so we'll see what I can do with it on the hones in the next couple of days.

Thanks, Tom-The acrylic is pretty tough; I just wish it didn't show every scratch and thumbprint, at least on the clear ones. I've got some very beautiful and unusual patterned acrylic from a British supplier that I'm just waiting for one of my blades to tell me it wants to go in.
That's what they do when I get them out to play with (sorry Paul, fondle)-they tell me what kind of scales they want lol! There are many roads to sharp.

Great work!
Just my opinion but I think that the wedge is to large at the end and throws the whole thing out of proportion.
A very minor thing and not that it don't look great but my thoughts
