    Default A C-Mon I'd forgotten about

I rediscovered this razor that I'd bought on my honeymoon over 20 years ago while looking for something else. I'd put it away and forgot I'd bought it as I had no clue about restoring razors.

With some helpful advice from SRP I got it shaving again. The blade was pretty clean, and polished up nicely. I blued the tang and repainted the logos. One of the scales broke when I was removed the bent pivot pin. A little CA and some .016" aluminum liners got them back in shape. I actually like the extra thickness in the scales. I pinned it up with some of Austin's small nickel collars, honed it up, and took it for a spin this morning. It's a bellied full hollow grind and was quite the talker, but gave a really nice shave. I've been preferring wedge grinds, but this will definitely come out for special occasions.

Nice work! I like the idea that you left it mostly original. I leave my razors original when I can, only change scales when the originals need replacing.

Got a C-Mon, had a couple others in the past. Fantastic shaving razors that generally take a great edge pretty quickly.

Thanks Sharptonn and DoughBoy. I think some of the SRP advice has started to sink in. I wouldn't have improved nearly as fast without the help of this site.

For the most part I try and keep the razors original if I can. Of course if the scales are shot, I'll get a little creative .

I agree the C-Mon is a great shaving razor, one of the closest one pass shaves I've had.
