Thanked: 4826The juma looks really nice with that blade. Is is an illusion of light ling or is the etch darker on one side? The XC130, is that one of the new high tech steels you are starting to use?

That's just the lighting. I wanted to buy a decent lightbox. My current one is home made and only lights from one side, and with the hollow being lighted with a different orientation, they appear different. With damascus it is not so much an issue because there the steel is less shiny.
It's XC130. Carbon steel with 1.3%C
I am not yet forging the super steels. I just finished re-casting a new forge fire. Currently I am also making a new stand for it, and making new press dies.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
