I can throw all my other razors away now.
Totally epic Henry Sears and Son Queen 7/8 No 740
BEFOREBlade was pretty good with only one minor spot of devil's spit. Lightly sanded and polished. Scales were faded (faux tortoise shell horn) and cracked with three tiny bug bites. Sanded, repaired and re-dyed back to faux tortoise.
AFTER
Bellied hollow grind
Honed on synthetic progression. Norton 1k, 4k, King 6k, Norton 8k finished. This thing is an absolute masterpiece. I have started calling it The musical razor because it rings when I shave with it. Seriously, it makes a plinking sound popping off the whiskers. BBS shave going only WTG and XTG as God is my witness. I'm not ACTUALLY going to throw my other razors away but this is absolutely my new favorite and makes me reevaluate what is for sale. This gigantic thing earned a place in the barber box except that it wouldn't fit.
I swear it's like shaving with a plough share. I mean, the blade is like a Pound note.
I titled the shave of the days as "Possibly the best shave I EVER had" I have to retract that. It was DEFINITELY the best shave I ever had. The alum block didn't even sting with the minor exception of under the ends of the mustache. I would give this one an 11 out of 10. I was right to be excited about.this one. Can't think of a price that would make me part with itLast edited by PaulFLUS; 04-16-2020 at 01:09 AM.

good work - what a good feeling to restore it so well and then have it perform like that for you.
Please share a photo of you throwing all your other razors away!

I know what you mean about not being able to put a price on it, I have few like that myself that I can't put a price on.

Well done, I'm a fan of the Sears Queens myself. Gotta pick a Queen 7/8 sometime.
