Victor how many blades do you accidentally ruin while grinding, I mean the thickness in the belly is so thin, and I assume your are primarily just relying on your "feel" while grinding, you have to grind through on a bunch.

Actually not that many, but I did go too thin on three in a row a little while back. The bummer is that the razor is very close to done when it happens. All three of those were perfect and I was just cleaning up the grinds with finer grits when all of a sudden they were trash.

I would say that I rely on a combination of math and technique more than feel, but I guess the feel part is establishing a groove close to where it needs to be, moving it to where it really needs to be, and then staying in it.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, I don't remember if we talked about that before.

Sorry, I don't. The heaviest I would consider would be what I call a half hollow, but the first 1/4 inch would be still pretty thin and shave pretty much like a full hollow. I'm just not interested in heavy grinds.
