You might want to get a vendors permit, as you don’t participate, yet advertise your business. Others try to do it right, you might want to try that

Hello, I only publish pieces already sold and made a while ago. When I manage to have razors in stock to be able to put them up for sale here, it will be time to use a seller page.

Yea, I know but frown on that anyway as advertising through the backdoor. So basically you are saying hey look at me and the nice razors I make and where they were sent to. Unless you are giving them away, ebay says otherwise, you are advertising your wares. I don't care how you interpret the rules.

okay. But this is a sub forum of custom razors. Or have I not understood correctly? I do custom razors, obviously I teach them, but I don't use the forum to sell them, I only put sold pieces to show them and share my work with you. Both as a process or as a finished razor.

    And I don't use ebay

I get what you're saying Bob but I don't see how what he is doing is different from me posting a restore in "what are you working on," or a custom built for personal use in ,"custom builds and restorations." I am no expert on the rules but I just read them again and it says he can't post,"avatars, signatures, threads, posts, user title, location, albums or visitor messages." I don't see that he did any of that. It does say "...but not limited to," but I think it is a judgement call beyond what's listed. I don't see that his intent is to break or even side step any rules. We can't treat EVERYONE like an offender or this will be a very lonely place.

On a technical note, I notice that your wedge pin is sanded flush with the scales. I have been doing the same thing. This leads me to a couple of questions.

    1. Do you use any type of adhesive in addition to the pin? If so, what kind?
    2. Is the pin flared at all, or is it only inserted into a slightly larger diameter hole and held in place with the adhesive?

Just to clarify the rules here. As long as any item posted in a thread is not currently for sale, as in this case, there is no rule infraction.

It is a timing loophole but it is how the rules are written, to prevent double dipping on advertising goods that are actively for sale.

On a technical note this is a Gallery subforum, a place to post pics of a persons razor, etc.
So, from that perspective he is not a Vendor just because he posts here.

However, I would appreciate him signing up as a Vendor because what he does is make custom razors and sells them. I doubt that he would post here if it did not lead to more sales.

Hello I use various adhesives: cyanoacrylate, epoxy, titebond ... depending on how the wood is. I make a hole, with the wood very close to its final thickness. After countersinking the hole, I rivet the pin. With a small hammer. The expansion of the pin is inside the hole. Then I adjust the thickness of the wood in the sander and the pin is smooth.
    Best regards
