Mappin Lancet
One of these has been on my razor bucket list for years.
They are rarely seen for sale and have been very illusive for me until now.
Got this pretty well cleaned up now. It only needs maybe a final polish and honing.
From what I have read, the ones with white scales are much harder to find. I have also read that the scales might be ivory. I'm not sure. If you look at them closely and on an angle, you can see what looks like the rings in the crosscut section of a tree. If anyone knows more about this, I'd love to hear about it. Also, in all of the pictures that I've seen, none of the pins on the white scaled razors have collars. This one doesn't either. Hopefully I may have lucked out and stumbled upon an original one.
Anyhoo... I'm absolutely thrilled with this.

Thanked: 3228Great find and enjoy the shaves. I think you just might have ivory scales on that one.

I have no doubt that your scales are both original and real ivory. The appear identical in form and pinning to mine.
Mine has a bit more hone wear
