    Default Lord & Harvey

Lord & Harvey Pattern Tempered Steel

I did as little as possible to this (taking my developing skill set into consideration) the photos seem a bit glossy but the shine is really deep..I can tell its not your average steel.

The scales had a name scratched on the outside which i sanded off.. To me, it made the razor feel like it belongs to someone else, i think to others it is part of the history..
    What do you guys think?

    Cheers Shaun..
The photos are quite poor and don't flatter the razor.. It does have something special about it though.

He went a long way North when he retired. Maybe he had friends or family up north, most people don't just up sticks on a whim - especially in 1851, would have been a major undertaking.

    You're probably right.

I read it as manufactured razors in Church St, Bow St and Wellington St although lived in St Thomas St . Moving up to Sheffield after retiring 1851 approx.

I too don't like scales that are scribbled with names. An engraved blade or name plate in the scales is a different story but scratching into scales looks tacky to me.

How do you get that and any other marks off the blade?
Are brillo Pads the same as wire wool?
    Can I use fine sandpaper?
Would the chrome cleaning paste that I use on the car work?
