8/8+ Wade & Butcher in acrylic abalone
An 8/8+ Wade & Butcher full hollow grind. A clean up and honing for the blade and new scales in acrylic abalone. Not the friendliest of materials to work with but very colorful. The camera does not do justice to the kaleidoscope of colors in the abalone. Pinned with Austin Kennedy's large nickel silver beehive collars and a black horn wedge.

Beautiful. Love the finish on that blade. Those scales are quite colorful. Not my cup of tea but definitely make a bold statement. Beautifully done for sure.

That is wild! Does it say For Barber's Use on the tang?
I always say it's only a pin. Blade is righteous, Lined wedge and original collars.
Very cool! And who doesn't like Abalone?
Save the scales?

Beautiful, Karl-Great minds think alike. I did a nearly identical WB blade in paua abalone a few years ago (just not as skillfully as a master like you!):
There are many roads to sharp.

It does not say For Barbers Use. The etched makers stamp is pretty light but it is all there. The original scales will go back to the customer. A nail was used as a pivot pin making the pivot hole in the scales huge but it can be filled and re-drilled. The large early beehive collars Austin sells would hide the repair.
