    Thanks Pete. It's always a question with Damascus because if you go overboard with the scales, you start competing with the pattern in the steel instead of complimenting it, IMO. This is complicated by the fact that I make my scales before etching the razor, so I have an idea of how the razor will look, but I have not seen it yet.

    Yeah, this is the one that I meant to triple to 145 layers before putting on the mono steel edge, but I forgot. Happy accident, now I know what 49 layers looks like. I'm very happy with the pattern.
