Thanked: 13245Feathered Horn Wade & Butcher
This is a custom restore I just finished but it is also a shout out to my friend RezDog
These feathered horn scales are the straightest least wanting to curl up that I have worked with in years.
Any one the has used this stuff knows that the Feathered Horn although gorgeous is the worst for being problematic. I usually have to hot oil dip them at 350° to take out the stress that makes them want to wind up again
These were exceptionally straight and stayed that way even after being thinned down from .170" to .105"
Very happy, Thanks Shaun
Now on the the restore
Nice 5/8 W&B need a little steel polish, and a chip taken out near the toe then I made the new Horn scales with a Bone wedge
Pins were fashioned after the originals with Brass pins and SS domed outer washers, solid Brass inner bearing washers
Honing was Chosera 1-5-10 followed by this new slate I have been testing for a friend in CO
In process pics and Original below"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"
Very Respectfully - Glen
