Default S. Hecht & Son Super Ivy 25

I Couldn't find much info I this razor or company. I did find a post here on SRP the someone said that S. Hecht & Son only made this blade from 1900-1901 but could not verify it.

I was going to keep this in its original shoes but for the first time I broke them while putting them on rather than taking them off.

So here it is in its new kicks. Bleached Camel bone with Black horn wedge.

Nice work. My only complaint is that is a Thanksgiving cactus (Schlumbergera truncata) not ivy (Hedera spp.).

Thank you!!! I don't have any Ivy around except for the poison variety and That may not have ended well.

Around these parts That plant is a Christmas cactus.

There are three main commercial products in the holiday cactus genus, Thanksgiving cactus (Schlumbergera truncata), Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera bridgesii) and Easter cactus (Schlumbergera russelliana, formerly known as Hatiora gaertneri...although not everyone agrees but whatever. Scientists... )
Thanksgiving cactus blooms earlier and is often referred to as Christmas cactus because they make it to market for the holidays first. They have pointy extensions on the leaf ends. Christmas cactus has more rounded extensions on the leaf ends. Easter cactus doesn't really have extensions...oh, and they bloom in spring, usually March depending on location.

Oh, by the way, if you hadn't guessed I was an orn hort major in college.

Nice backdrop for the razor though. That would be good for a SOTD during the holidays.

Yea I thought the same. would look dramatic when flowering. That particular plant is actually 4 different color flowering plants in one large pot. will shoot you a pic in PMs if you want so is not to go off topic too much.

The Restore job turned out nice. Your catching the bug. Watch out. Next, you will be stocking up on scale materials.
