Tried to save the etching by doing a light hand polish It is still visible but shows much better on camera than IRL.

The scales were made for a piece if brown and white swirl acrylic I had in a draw. don't remember where or why I even had it but it was nice to put it to use. I reused the original wedge I'm happy with the out come and can't wait to get it honed and have a shave with it.

looks like a fine job. It looks as if the wedge end isn't as tight as it could be. Meaning a little gap at the edge of the wedge. This was something I had a hard time with. If I'm seeing it right. Could just be the pics. I found I had to peen the wedge end completely before doing the finish peening on the pivot. At least that is what helped me.

Typically I’m not a fan of plastic, but that is very eye catching

Yes you are seeing it right. I did peen the wedge end first but I guess it was not tight enough. I tried to peen it tighter with out unpinning the pivot end but no luck and I don't want to peen it any more for fear of breaking the scales. I may un pin the pivot and tighten it.

I wouldnt sweat about it. As long as its tight and the wedge dont spin. Good enough. We all learn a little more with every one we do. That is part of the fun.
